This recipe is a great way to feature local, sustainably caught Dungeness crab alongside fresh pacific dulse seaweed. It is perfect as a side for tacos or a salad for almost any dish!

Ingredients
- 4 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup fresh dulse, chopped
- ½ avocado chopped
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 2 tsp white or black sesame seeds,
- lightly toasted
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- (white and green)
- Garlic chili sauce, Sambal Oelek,
- (optional for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- optional: 1 cup shredded Dungeness crab meat
- Dressing:
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tsp soy sauce or tamari
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp chopped shallots
- ½ tsp lime zest or to taste
- (lemon okay too)
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the dressing – can be mixed by hand or put into food processor. Dressing can also be made ahead.
- Chop all other slaw ingredients, cabbage, dulse, avocado, cilantro, onions.
- Toss the dressing with the crab, seaweed, and remaining ingredients. Season to taste with salt and pepper and garlic chili sauce if you want heat.
